ABSTRACT

Diabetes is a worldwide public health problem that seriously threats human health. Long-term metabolic disorders, as the main cause of multi-system complications and death in the later stage of diabetes, can cause multi-system damage, leading to chronic progressive lesions in the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, blood vessels and other tissues and organs, as well as functional decline and failure. The low risk of side effects and new treatment strategies remain an area to be explored in clinical treatment of diabetes. Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (SM) is one of the commonly used herbs in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), with the main effect of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis. In recent years, it has been found that SM shows good performance in lowering blood sugar and treating diabetes complications. Data mining information has also shown that the drugs of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis are now common drugs in clinical treatment of diabetes, and SM has the highest use frequency, with significant curative effect. In addition, TCM is a kind of treatment with composite components and multiple targets, and so people are increasingly interested in its effective components and carry out extensive researches. This article summarized the experimental verification of SM extract and its components (tanshinone A, tanshinone B, tanshinone ⅡA, tanshinone I, protocatechuic aldehyde, polysaccharide, and total polyphenol acid) in various diabetes models in improving glucolipid metabolism, improving heart function in patients with diabetes, alleviating the motor and sensory deficits caused by diabetes, preventing the occurence of the diabetic retinopathy, recovery of liver and kidney structure and function damage in diabetic patients, and helping to resist high sugar-induced atrophic cavitation potential. It may inhibit hyperglycemia-induced vascular injury with polyol pathway activation, reduce the formation of advanced glycation end products, inhibit protein kinase C pathway activation and hexosamine pathway activation, and alleviate oxidative stress caused by excessive production of peroxides in mitochondrial electron transport chain during hyperglycemia to play a role of treatment, and provide reference for clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the problems of seed cells and biological scaffolds in spinal cord tissue engineering, and review the recent experimental research. Methods:Related literatures were searched in CNKI, Wangfang data, PubMed and Web of Science from establishment to March, 2021, and the problems and progress of seed cells, biological scaffolds and their combination were reviewed. Results:The problems of seed cells are carcinogenicity, immune rejection, ethics, low survival rate and differentiation rate after transplantation, and current researches focus on exploring new cell types, gene transfection, cell co-transplantation and pretreatment before transplantation. The problems of biological scaffold are that a single material selection cannot meet different needs, and the traditional technology cannot simulate the internal structure of spinal cord well. There were more researches focusing on new composite materials and new technology. The core problem of their combination is that the effects of different cell and scaffold combinations are different, and the current researches are mostly devoted to the continuous exploration of suitable composite mode, and try to introduce biological agents and other factors. Conclusion:Spinal cord tissue engineering has the potential to completely change the therapeutic pathway of spinal cord injury. Current experimental researches mainly base on solving the problems of seed cells and biological scaffolds of spinal cord tissue engineering, and further explore the appropriate composite mode of seed cells and biological scaffolds, so as to provide more basic evidence for its clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Replenishing qi, nourishing yin and activating blood circulation therapy is an effective treatment for diabetic nephropathy (DN) in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In this article, mechanisms of this therapy in DN were summarized, which included improvement of glucose and lipid metabolism, reducing inflammation and relieving renal fibrosis. And it provided theoretical supports for DN treatment with TCM.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To study the effect of GuiFu capsule on sexual hormone and other relative factors in rats with endometriosis. Methods: Endometriosis was induced in rats by surgery of self-endometrium transplant.Rats with successful models were randomized into GuiFu capsule group and Danazol group.Expressions of ER,PR,VEGF and NK cells were examined by immunohistochemical stainin;the level of E2 and P was detected by radioimmunoassay. Results: GuiFu capsule can reduce the level of E2 and P in the blood of rats(P

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effect and mechanism of Bushen Yiqi Prescription on apoptosis of human first trimester trophoblasts. Methods:Isolated from first trimester placental tissues, human trophoblasts cultured in media with 5%, 10%,20%drug-containing serum for a 24,48 or 72h period. Then we measured cell viability by MTT assay, cell DNA content by flow cytomester, cell Caspase-3 enzyme activity by Caspase-3 active assay kit, and, cell Fas,FasL,Bcl-2 and XIAP protein. Results:Absorbency of trophoblast in 490nm wavelength increased greatly after being incubated with drug-containing serum for 24,48,and 72 h(P

ABSTRACT

Objective: To observe the effect of different caesalpinia sappan extract on the Mice thymus tissue, peripheral T-cell proliferation and the production of INF-?. Methods: To make preparation of different caesalpinia sappan extract and give them to the mice, weighing the mice thymus and calculating the thymus index 7 days later. The MTT method was used to measure the proliferation ability of T-cells of the mouse spleen. A double antibody sandwich ELISA was used to detect INF-? content in T-cells culture supernatant. Results: The different caesalpinia sappan extract not only have clear inhibitory effect on the weight of thymus but also have inhibitory effect on the proliferation of T-cells and the production of INF-?. The inhibitory effect of caesalpinia sappan ethanol extract and n-butanol extract on the T-cells is much stronger.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To expound the effect of Kangxianyixin prescription on cardiocyte apoptosis and expression of Bax and Bcl-2 in rats with dilated cardiomyopathy. Methods:Wistar rats with dilated cardiomyopathy established by furazolidone were treated 8 weeks with Kangxianyixin prescription,to observe cardiocyte apoptosis and to measure Bax and Bcl-2 expression in rats. Results:(1) In comparison of cardiomyocyte apoptosis indexes in rats, when compared with model group, the results showed significant difference in the combined group of high dosage of Kangxianyixin prescription and captopril, the high dosage group, the low dosage group, the captopril group(P

ABSTRACT

The aims of this study were to compare the inhibitory effect of nimesulide and indomethacin on gastric cancer cells, to investigate the effect of nimesulide on SGC7901 and 7901-AS, and to evaluate its probable mechanism. After incubated with nimesulide (0~200?mol/L) or indomethacin (0~25?mol/L), the proliferation of gastric cancer cells was measured by MTT assay. The cell cycle of SGC7901, 7901-P, 7901-AS was respectively observed after being incubated with nimesulide and vehicle control, by using fluorescence activated cell sorter (FACS). Ultramicrostructure of gastric cancer cells (SGC7901,7901-AS,SGC7901+nimesulide) was observed by electronmicroscopy. The results showed that by MTT assay nimesulide, as indomethacin, had dose-dependent inhibitory effects on proliferation of gastric cancer cells. Compared to the inhibitory effect of nimesulide on SGC7901, it was less on 7901-AS (P
